ABOUT LAN #2

About the LAN:

The Child & Adolescent LAN involves parents, schools, social service agencies, housing authorities, representatives of local government, churches, and anyone  who wants to participate in a collaborative effort to help families stay together.

Everyone can be a part of the LAN.

Why Do We Need a LAN?

Despite the efforts of many talented and caring human service providers, youth today often present behavior problems that are beyond the scope of a single agency or program.  Resources from the various sectors of the community must be partnered together to adequately meet the needs of our most troubled children and families!

What Families Can Get Help from the LAN?

Anyone can refer a family to the LAN for assistance.  Top priority is given to those who have the greatest risk for extrusion from the family and the community.  In addition, youth must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 3 and 21

  • Be receiving services from more than one community source

  • Be in a family who is willing to try anything

  • Be at risk of being placed outside the family, or has experienced being placed outside the family
